Me and my Vet

I went to visit my “favourite” vet again. Remember my skin patch test which I had some months ago? Remember how I (then half-sedated dog) managed to knock everything over in the operating room before escaping to the waiting area to betaorix? Yeah, that vet!

I was in the clinic for my annual booster shot and our paths met once more. For the first in her life, zeomy saw how both vet and dog were so afraid of each other. While I was trying my best to wriggle out of the consultation room, I was held firmly by her. The vet, instead of approaching me, leaned over the counter and asked her to lift my paw and ears for him to see. He was amazed how well I responded to immunotherapy and I have become so handsome once more that it is hard to believe I was once an itchy-scratchy dog. He asked zeomy for pictures of me in my ugliest state, which we think he wanted to use to show his patients. We didn’t think we were in the mood back then to take photos of me in my misery and I think I deserve to get discounted consultation charges from him should we even have the pictures in the first place. hee hee

Anyway, I was so nervous with him that a male nurse and zeomy had to hold and  ”sayang” me while the vet gave me the booster. I removed the muzzle twice on my own prior to that.  Seeing I was well in control and calmer after the jab, the vet decided to listen my heart and lungs before giving me a clean bill of health. I believe he is unlikely to come any closer if the nurse wasn’t around to sayang me. Vet asked zeomy to take me back in 3 months’ time and before he could finish, I dragged her out, with all my paws scratching noisily on the tiled floor. He could only hear her going “okaaayyy, thank you, byeeeeeee… ben stop it!”.

Everyone in the waiting area and 3 dogs watched me in amusement. I was alot calmer and went to sniff their butts but they were too shy to sniff mine, so I sniffed theirs some more. I tried to lift the skirt of a lady before I was stopped by zeomy. *damn* I was so close!!

I didn’t have much chance to lift more skirts coz the nurse at the counter was very efficient and cleared the bill in 5 minutes. But I was really glad and all ready to go home, cos my dinner was waiting for me! Yum yum

What a Dash!

When every human and other dogs dashed towards the jungle at the start of the hash , I was the only dog which went the other direction… I thought I ought to keep mummy company in her van.

Zeomy learnt an important lesson, ie, no coffee before the hash. She couldn’t get herself to pee in the wilderness like us dogs so she ran the hash with a partially full bladder. hahaha

The site was great and it was really a long trail. When we reached the water stream, zeomy almost wanted to jump in the stream with the rest of the dogs. We probably looked silly when we wobbled towards it. Lucky she didn’t do the jump, else it would be quite embarassing to be associated with her. Guess what? I was a well-behaved boy and was good with recalls. I even tried looking for both betaori and zeomy and ran alongside with them. Well, this is the best they can get from me. I hope they don’t expect the same behaviour when we visit our parks and field.

Zeomy’s shoes gathered more mud than me. In fact, we even found a pebble stuck in one and there were enough mud and sand to cover the bottom of a pail. We have fresh fertilisers for mummy’s plants liao.

Kingsley’s beloved S made biscotti!! She gave me one but I was too shy and chicken to take it from her. Mummy had to feed me instead and I gobbled it within seconds. Yummy! I hope either b or z is brave enough to try making yummies for me again. If only they are half as good as Kingsley’s S in the kitchen..
